If there is more than one person travelling, the rates for Serviced Apartments do not usually change so it is possible to spread the cost more effectively than if you were to require two hotel rooms. Added to this is the fact that Serviced Apartments usually come with kitchens, so one can save money by eating at home rather than in restaurants. Of course, the option is still there to eat out if you would prefer!
Location is not a problem, with apartments available in all corners of the world. If you need to get around, it will be possible to stay near transport links. Or if you need to stay put, during a conference for example, chances are you can find an apartment on the same road. The beauty of Serviced Apartments is that the choice is yours, so you can tailor the location to your needs.
Although Serviced Apartments cannot boast the same level of facilities as hotels, many have 24 hour receptions, underground parking and equivalent privately-owned facilities (such as gyms) nearby. Every apartment is `serviced` by a maid between stays (usually on a weekly basis) so cleanliness is guaranteed. And impressively, because Serviced Apartments are essentially second homes, they are fully furnished beyond the standard of most hotels. Many contain elegant living and dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens, ironing equipment, washer/dryers, surround sound televisions, DVD players and internet access to name but a few perks.
Serviced Apartments in London are a slightly different kettle of fish. Due to the high property prices in popular locations, they are not necessarily cheaper than hotels. Therefore it is sometimes better to look for hotels near London which tend to compete with Serviced Apartments on price whilst offering the additional benefits of hotel service, frequent maintenance and extremely convenient facilities.
In most other destinations, however, you should consider browsing the available Serviced Apartments before your next visit. It might be the best decision you make.
