What’s on in Sheffield in April 2018

Sheffield City Hall

At City Hall, you’ll find a range of acts, from singers, dancers, ballet, and now even a circus of horrors. On 2nd April 2018, Circus of Horrors: Voodoo VaudEvil takes to the stage for what can only be described as a spectacularly bizarre performance. This show plays over 100 UK theatres and even travels the world, with Simon Cowell claimed that he loved it, so of course it must be good! (http://hospitality.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/Circus-Of-Horrors-2018).

Award-winning comedian Jenny Éclair has recruited Dillie Keane and Lizzie Roper for a live show based on the BBC Two series and best-selling book, Grumpy Old Women. It’s a 90-minute celebration of the female condition, and great for women of all ages (https://www.ents24.com/uk/tour-dates/grumpy-old-women-live).

Gregory Porter’s voice has been described by the Daily Telegraph as ‘impossible to resist’, meaning this double Grammy award-winning jazz and soul singer’s return to Sheffield will be one not to be missed on 15th April 2018 (http://m.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/view/13011/). One of his generations leading bluesman, Eric Bibb will also take the stage on the 22nd April, performing songs from his many albums that span 5 decades (http://m.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/view/13160/).

Another something a little bit different now, but former Labour party leader Ed Miliband and radio presenter Geoff Lloyd will be presenting a special one-off live episode of their hit podcast, ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’, at Sheffield City Hall (http://m.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk/events/view/13226/).

Your grandparents listened to them, your parents listened to them and no doubt you’ve probably heard a few of their songs, but the 28th April is time for The Hollies to entertain what will most likely be a capacity audience. Having been around for well over half a century, that amount of experience will guarantee an incredible show (http://sheffield.carpediem.cd/events/5980558-the-hollies-at-sheffield-city-hall/).

Everyone has a tendency of looking at what you could buy if you won the lottery, so I’ve decided to write about it. I’ve used the latest lottery amount, £22.6 Million and worked from there.

First off, you buy that dream home you’ve always wanted and I’ve found just the place. Located right on the Dorset seafront is a three-bedroom apartment for a casual £2,495,000 and that would be my holiday home for sure. Link: Three Bedroom Apartment, Dorse

Now, for my house in Sheffield I would go for more of a mansion than a luxury apartment so a five-bedroom manor house seems ideal to me. It’s also only £1,995,000, meaning you have more money to splash! Link: Five Bedroom Manor House, Sheffield

Next is the motor, whether you drive or not you’re going to have a car to envy all other drivers, even if it’s just parked on your drive. For me personally, I’d be instantly at a dealership and throwing over £300,000 at a Lamborghini Aventador and yes, I would be literally throwing it, because £300,000 would not even put a dent in the £17.8 million I have left.

Now you start getting silly with it. You have over £17 million even though you have the house of your dreams, a holiday home and the car you’ve always wanted. So what else could you need? Well, you don’t need anything so you get what you want, starting off with an island. Setting you back a tasty £5,058,400  Link: Private Island, Florida, United States

How would you get to your private island though? By yacht of course! A nice little yacht setting you back a mere £2,753,000 is hardly anything to worry about, right? Link: Motor Yacht, 4 Cabin

Last but not least you need a villa somewhere hot to be taking selfies at to make your friends jealous. I have decided that Marbella is the place for me! A luxury villa I’ve seen is on the market for a tasty £6,738,939.70!

After all that spending you are left with £3,249,661! I’d personally then get a hell of a lot of new clothes and shoes, give some money to my family, then be boring and leave the rest in the bank, living off of the interest.

Is there anything you disagree with? Anything you’d change? If so, feel free to tweet us @citycrashpad and we will retweet the best suggestions!
